Rules
I.General rules
- The purpose of Adventure Racing Cup (ARC) ranking is to:
- select top teams of ARC races,
- enhance the countrywide offer of Adventure Racing events,
- promote Adventure Racing in Poland,
- promote sponsors of ARC.
- Adventure Racing Cup 2008 consists of four races: WERTEPY, EKSPLORIS ADVENTURE RACE, CZ SAC 08, KOMPAS AR
- ADVENTURE RACING CUP 2008 races are managed by „Napieraj” Adventure Racing Association.
- These Rules and Regulations apply to all ARC races, but special stipulations may be introduced with regard to any of them. Each one of ARC races has its own Rules and Regulations approved by ARC Management.
- Adventure racing is a team sport performed in the open terrain according to its definition.
- Race Management puts special emphasis on rules of fair play and acting in an environmentally responsible manner.
- No litter can be left along the race course and any waste is to be placed in waste bins. Any violations of these rules will result in disqualification.
- All team members should be in good physical condition for the race. Due to the special character of Adventure Racing, participants are advised to consult a medical doctor before the event to ensure that they are medically fit to complete the event.
- In order to gain satisfactory results, all participants need to be well prepared physically, mentally and logistically.
- Prior to the start of the race, all participants will be required to sign a Waiver, to confirm that they are fit enough to take an effort of the race and they accept full and complete responsibility for any damages and personal injury. All claims regarding any health injuries one could have suffered during ARC races will be declined by Race Management.
- All participants are required to have their own health insurance covering all the medical treatment costs in case of an accident caused during the ARC race.
- Only adults, who are at least 18 years old at the date of the race, may participate in ARC races. Individuals over the age of 16 will be allowed to participate on condition of presenting permission in writing from parents or tutors. Parents or legal tutors must provide a declaration of having read ARC Rules and Regulations and the Waiver described in point 10. Adventure Racing Cup Management will be indemnified with respect to any claims arising as a result of the races. Participants will sign separate individual agreements with Organizers of each racing event.
- All team members are to have read these Rules and Regulations and declare that they are aware of them.
II.Rules of Racing
- ARC ranking is run by „Napieraj” Adventure Racing Association.
- ARC Head Referee will be appointed for the entire ARC series and dismissed, if need arises, by „Napieraj” Adventure Racing Association. The name of Head Referee will be posted not later than one day prior to the first race at arcup.com.
- ARC points are awarded in two categories:
- OPEN
- PROFI:

- men (PROFI MEN)
- man + woman or two women (PROFI MIX)
- To be eligible for any of the above mentioned categories, participants must register in writing. Each ARC team must consist of two members. Every team, which completes at least one of ARC races, will be automatically placed in ARC ranking at arcup.com. It is not necessary for the team to register itself in order to be ranked. The teams will be awarded points within only one category. In order to gain further points, the team must compete under the same name and in the same category in the subsequent ARC races. The team will be considered as the same for ranking purposes if at least one of the team members is the same as in the first ARC race in which this team competed. Only the team performance is ranked; not individual achievements.
- ARC ranking comprises of four races selected by „Napieraj” Adventure Racing Association.
- Each ARC race must comprise of at least four of the following disciplines performed in each category (Any exception to this rule must be first agreed with ARC Management.):
- mountain biking / mtb,
- kayaking/canoeing/rafting (river, sea, lake),
- orienteering trail running,
- inline skating,
- rope tasks,
- swimming.

- Each ARC event will start with the Salomon Trail Running Race. Salomon Trail Running is a separate series of races, with a separate ranking and Regulations available at the official Salomon Trail Running Cup website – www.trailrunning.pl . All participants of the ARC series must take part in the Salomon Trail Running event. Start to each of ARC events will be based on the handicap rule, according to the losses of the second member of the team on the finish line of Salomon Trail Running race. The best three results in each race’s final standings will accumulate toward the team’s overall ARC ranking:

- 1st place – 30 points
- 2nd place – 25 points
- 3rd place – 22 points
- 4th place – 20 points
- 5th place – 19 points
- …
- 22nd place – 2 points
- 23rd place and further – 1 point

- their result in the fourth event of the ARC;
- their results in the last – final event of the series.
- the points awarded for the overall ARC ranking are based on the official finish lists sent after each race by Race Management to ARC Head Referee,
- Each team completing the race will earn points based on the following order:
- b.If two or more teams finish at the same place, they will receive the same number of points as envisaged in the Regulations,
- If teams earn the same number of points in the overall ARC ranking, the places will be decided upon the following (in order):
- The value of prizes for the whole ARC series is equal to 100,000 PLN (cash, gear, trophies). The announcement of results for the overall ARC ranking and prize giving will take place after the last ARC race.
- Cash prizes:
- First place in PROFI MM category in each ARC race – PLN 700,00
- First place in PROFI MIX category in each ARC race – PLN 700,00
- First place in ARC overall rankings after the four ARC races in PROFI MM category – PLN 4.000,00
- First place in ARC overall rankings after four ARC races in PROFI MIX category – PLN 4.000,00
- First place in MEN category in each Salomon Trail Running race – PLN 300,00
- First place in WOMEN category in each Salomon Trail Running race – PLN 300,00
- First place in Salomon Trail Running overall ranking in MEN category – PLN 1.000,00
- First place in Salomon Trail Running overall ranking in WOMEN category – PLN 1.000,00
- Gear prizes: for the first three teams in each ARC race in every ARC category in total amount of PLN 18.000,00; for the first three teams in the overall ARC ranking in every ARC category in total amount of PLN 10.000,00. The above mentioned values include also the gear prizes for the winners of the Salomon Trail Running races being part of the ARC series.
- Final interpretation of these Regulations as well as adjudication on disagreements and protests arising during ARC is at the discretion of ARC Head Referee.
III.Final resolutions
- All participants must abide by the rules established by Race Management and must be equipped with all gear required by Management in each ARC race.
- All above mentioned Rules and Regulations stipulate the principles of racing and classification of ARC participants.
- Race Management has the right to make changes and amendments to the Rules and Regulations prior to any ARC race. If any changes will have been made, Race Management will contact all registered teams with the updates.
- These Rules and Regulations are binding to all the individuals involved in ARC races, i.e. Race Management, participants, the press, spectators, the support team, etc.
- The teams take full liability for safe task performance and travel throughout all the ARC races. ARC participants must obey all traffic regulations. Race Management cannot ensure that public roads will be closed for ARC races at all times. The racers must wear securely fastened cycling helmets during the biking, roller skating, water and rope sections during all racing events.
- Race Management will not accept liability for any damage or harmful acts executed by participants or third parties.
- All racers consent to any reproduction of their image captured in connection with their participation in ARC events, for use in connection with broadcasting, press release and promotional materials published by ARC Management, media patrons and sponsors.
- Any promotional, informational, marketing activities performed during the ARC events are strictly forbidden, unless the Race Management or Race Organizer will allow such activity. All racers consent for their personal data to be processed for ARC organizational and marketing purposes by Race Management, media patrons and sponsors.
- Final interpretation of these Rules and Regulations is possible at the discretion of Race Management.
